US POWER PLANTS : WORLD'S WORST POLLUTERS

America's power plants are among the leading global sources of carbon emission than the entire economies of Russia, India, Japan or any other nation put together besides China, a latest report said on Friday.

"US power plants are polluters on a global scale," said Elizabeth Ouzts of Environment America Research & Policy Center which released the report "America's Dirtiest

Power Plants," ahead of the next weeks United Nations Climate Summit in New York.

"It's time to stop ignoring our largest global warming polluter, and start a major transition to clean power," she said, adding that the US power plants are world's third largest carbon polluters, edging out India.

According to the report, in 2012, US power plants produced more than six percent of global warming emissions worldwide, more than any other industrialised nation except China and the US as a whole.

The 50 dirtiest US power plants produced 30 per cent of all power-sector carbon dioxide emissions in 2012, the same as the entire economy of South Korea, the world's seventh-largest carbon emitter, it said.

The 100 dirtiest US power plants produced 19 per cent of all power-sector carbon dioxide emissions, the same as Germany, the 6th largest carbon emitter.

The Clean Power Plan would eliminate as much carbon pollution as the entire country of Canada produced in 2012.

anada is the 8th largest carbon emitter in the world, the report said.

According to the report, there are 2,154 power plants in the US, which accounts for six.

Three per cent of the total global carbon dioxide emissions, which is more than the nearly six per cent of the total global carbon dioxide emission by the whole of India.

SINGAPORE TAKES ISIS THREAT SERIOUSLY: LEE HSIEN LOONG

Singapore is taking threats imposed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to the region seriously but has not decided yet if it should join the US-led international coalition against the group, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said.

"We are happy that the Americans have taken a stand against ISIS. This is a threat to people all over the world," he said yesterday during a visit to Hong Kong.

But the situation is a difficult and complicated one, Lee added

Singaporeans, Malaysians and Indonesians were among the 12,000 foreign fighters who have joined the ISIS ranks.

"How can we support the American-led effort? That's something we can discuss. We have not reached a point of making a decision yet," the Prime Minister said.

"Even how the Americans are going to pursue this and what they're going to do, they haven't quite decided yet," he was quoted by The Straits Times today.

"They're not going to put troops on the ground. It's not one of those situations where you can say, 'Those are bad guys, let's knock them out'."

"You're talking about 30-something thousand fighters, they command a very substantial piece of land, they have resources... they've got oil.

"And they were also fighting the government in Syria, which, (until) very recently... was seen as bad guys. (They're) also fighting against the Iranians.

"In the Middle East, things are never so simple and you can't come riding in on a white horse, knock out the bad guys and tomorrow, peace breaks out," Lee said.

INDIA, CHINA BUNKING CLIMATE MEET NOT TO IMPACT DECISION: US

The leaders of India and China not personally attending the UN meeting on Climate Change in New York is unlikely to have an impact on the decision making process, the US has said.

"I don't anticipate that the fact that the heads of state of those two countries not being there will have any impact on our ability to advance the ball on this priority," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

He was responding to questions on the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, not attending the next week's important meeting of the United Nations on Climate Change, which is being attended by the US President Barack Obama and a scores of world leaders.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has expressed his disappointment over Modi not attending the Climate meet.

Modi, because of his efforts and policy decisions as the Gujarat Chief Minister, is considered as a champion of climate change.

Describing this as an important meet, Earnest said this would be helpful in coordinating the effort to reduce the causes of climate change and of carbon pollution.

HAVE A ROCKING WEEK END

1. Plan your trades. Trade your plan.

2. Keep records of your trading results.

3. Keep a positive attitude, no matter how much you lose.

4. Don’t take the market home.

5. Continually set higher trading goals.

6. Successful traders buy into bad news and sell into good news.

7. Successful traders are not afraid to buy high and sell low.

8. Successful traders have a well-scheduled planned time for studying the markets.

9. Successful traders isolate themselves from the opinions of others.

10. Continually strive for patience, perseverance, determination, and rational action.

11. Limit your losses – use stops!

12. Never cancel a stop loss order after you have placed it!

13. Place the stop at the time you make your trade.

14. Never get into the market because you are anxious because of waiting.

15. Avoid getting in or out of the market too often.

16. Losses make the trader studious – not profits. Take advantage of every loss to improve your knowledge of market action.

17. The most difficult task in speculation is not prediction but self-control. Successful trading is difficult and frustrating. You are the most important element in the equation for success.

18. Always discipline yourself by following a pre-determined set of rules.

19. Remember that a bear market will give back in one month what a bull market has taken three months to build.

20. Don’t ever allow a big winning trade to turn into a loser. Stop yourself out if the market moves against you 20% from your peak profit point.

21. You must have a program, you must know your program, and you must follow your program.

22. Expect and accept losses gracefully. Those who brood over losses always miss the next opportunity, which more than likely will be profitable.

23. Split your profits right down the middle and never risk more than 50% of them again in the market.

24. The key to successful trading is to know yourself and your stress point.

25. The difference between winners and losers isn’t so much native ability as it is discipline exercised in avoiding mistakes.

26. In trading as in fencing there are the quick and the dead.

27. Speech may be silver but silence is golden. Traders with the golden touch do not talk about their success.

28. Dream big dreams and think tall. Very few people set goals too high. A man becomes what he thinks about all day long.

29. Accept failure as a step towards victory.

30. Have you taken a loss? Forget it quickly. Have you taken a profit? Forget it even quicker! Don’t let ego and greed inhibit clear thinking and hard work.

31. One cannot do anything about yesterday. When one door closes, another door opens. The greater opportunity always lies through the open door.

32. The deepest secret for the trader is to subordinate his will to the will of the market. The market is truth as it reflects all forces that bear upon it. As long as he recognizes this he is safe. When he ignores this, he is lost and
doomed.

33. It’s much easier to put on a trade than to take it off.

34. If a market doesn’t do what you think it should do, get out.

35. Beware of large positions that can control your emotions. Don’t be overly aggressive with the market. Treat it gently by allowing your equity to grow steadily rather than in bursts.

36. Never add to a losing position.

37. Beware of trying to pick tops or bottoms.

38. You must believe in yourself and your judgment if you expect to make a living at this game.

39. In a narrow market there is no sense in trying to anticipate what the next big movement is going to be – up or down.

40. A loss never bothers me after I take it. I forget it overnight. But being wrong and not taking the loss – which is what does the damage to the pocket book and to the soul.

41. Never volunteer advice and never brag of your winnings.

42. Of all speculative blunders, there are few greater than selling what shows a profit and keeping what shows a loss.

43. Standing aside is a position.

44. It is better to be more interested in the market’s reaction to new information than in the piece of news itself.

45. If you don’t know who you are, the markets are an expensive place to find out.

46. In the world of money, which is a world shaped by human behavior, nobody has the foggiest notion of what will happen in the future. Mark that word – Nobody! Thus the successful trader does not base moves on what supposedly will happen but reacts instead to what does happen.

47. Except in unusual circumstances, get in the habit of taking your profit too soon. Don’t torment yourself if a trade continues winning without you. Chances are it won’t continue long. If it does, console yourself by thinking of all the times when liquidating early reserved gains that you would have otherwise lost.

48. When the ship starts to sink, don’t pray – jump!

49. Lose your opinion – not your money.

50. Assimilate into your very bones a set of trading rules that works for you.

FED PLOTS CAUTIOUS COURSE ON RATE HIKES

The Federal Reserve took two steps toward winding down the historic easy-money policies that have defined its response to the financial crisis, but stopped short of the move markets are awaiting most: signaling when interest rates will start to rise.

With the economy gradually improving, U.S. central-bank officials plan to end the bond-buying program known as quantitative easing after October, hoping to finally stop expanding a six-year experiment in monetary policy that has left the Fed holding more than $4 trillion of Treasury and mortgage bonds.

The Fed on Wednesday also detailed a new technical plan for how it will raise short-term interest rates, something most officials currently don't intend to do until next year. The central bank has kept the federal-funds rate near zero since December 2008 and offered assurances along the way about rates remaining low, another part of its varied efforts to boost the post-financial-crisis economy.

HAVE A THIRSTY THURSDAY

IN INVESTMENT & TRADING
Don’ts

1. Don't panic
The market is volatile. Accept that. It will keep fluctuating. Don't panic. If the prices of your shares have fall, there is no reason to want to sell them in a hurry. Stay invested if nothing fundamental about your company has changed.

2. Don't make huge investments
When the market dips, go ahead and buy some stocks. But don't invest huge amounts. Pick up the shares in stages. Keep some money aside and zero in on a few companies you believe in. Most importantly keep buying the shares periodically.

3. Don't chase performance
A stock does not become a good buy simply because its price has been rising phenomenally. Once investors start selling, the price will drop drastically.

4. Don't ignore expenses
When you buy and sell shares, you will have to pay a brokerage fee and a Securities Transaction Tax. This could nip into your profits especially if you are selling for small gains (where the price of stock has risen by a few rupees).

Do’s

1. Get rid of the junk
If shares you have bought before are showing a profit, you could consider selling them. Even if they are not going to give you a substantial profit, it is time to dump them and utilize the money in other if you no longer believe in them.

2. Diversify
Make sure you are invested in stocks of various sectors. Do not invest all your fund in same sector.

3. Believe in your investment
Don't invest in shares based on a tip, no matter who gives it to you. Analyze the fundamental of company, future potential of products and services and then make decision whether to invest or not.

4. Stick to your strategy
Stick to your stock allocation. Do not over exceed or limit your shares portfolio.

It seemingly looks to be the simplest and the most rewarding. But in intraday trading one has to be very fast and quick and have to be on your toes always, so there are certain rules which one has to keep in mind.

If index is in positive from yesterday and stock u are holding is in minus then it should be cut and if intraday trend of index is in buy then one should buy share in which is in plus.

It isn't necessary that share which is weak today during intraday trading might be weak tomorrow also, simultaneously if share is strong today might not be strong tomorrow

If US Markets have gone up overnight, markets here in all probability will open strong, so one should be quite careful when buying shares as general psychology of public is to buy when good news is there.

Being contrarians is very Imp. while trading intraday.

Stop loss is must while trading intraday.

Always trade in very liquid shares i.e. which have very high volume because as entry and exit can be very fast in such shares.

Do paper trading before u actually start trading so that when u start making paper profits, then shift to actual trading.

Keep your volume constant e.g.: if u trade in five lots of nifty future then trade in five lots only. This position can be increased only when u are satisfied with your trading for month. It shouldn't be that one day u buy five lots and next day u trade in ten lots & third day u get loss and stop trading for two days.

Fear and Greed are at maximum levels while trading intraday so always have less position when u are new to intraday trading as otherwise u will be mostly under tension.

FDI MORE THAN DOUBLES TO $ 3.5 BILLION IN JULY

Foreign direct investment (FDI) flows into India more than doubled to $ 3.5 billion in July, according to data released by the of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion today.

In July 2013, the country had received FDI worth $ 1.65 billion.
During April-July this fiscal, the foreign inflows grew by 52 per cent to $ 10.73 billion as compared to $ 7.05 billion in the same period last year.

Amongst the top 10 sectors, telecommunications received the maximum FDI at USD 2.33 billion followed by services ($ 1 billion), pharmaceuticals ($ 886 million)and construction ($ 430 million) during the first-four months of the fiscal.

During the period, India received maximum FDI from Mauritius at $ 3.38 billion, followed by Singapore ($ 1.66 billion), Netherlands ($ 1.49 billion), Japan ($ 834 million), UK ($ 824 million) and the US ($ 351 million).

In 2013-14, the FDI inflows in India were $ 24.29 billion against $ 22.42 billion in 2012-13.

India requires around $ 1 trillion in the next five years to overhaul its infrastructure sector, including ports, airports and highways to boost growth.

The government is taking more steps to boost FDI in the country. It has raised the foreign investment limit to 49 per cent in defence manufacturing and relaxed the policy in construction sector. The government has also proposed to increase the FDI cap in insurance to 49 per cent.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

1. Forget the news, remember the chart. No one is smart enough to know how the news will affect price. The chart already knows the news is coming.

2. Buy the first pullback from a new high. Sell the first pullback from a new low. There’s always a crowd that missed the first boat.

3. Buy at support, sell at resistance. Everyone sees the same thing and they’re all just waiting to jump in the pool.

4. Short rallies not sell offs. When markets drop, shorts finally turn a profit and get ready to cover.

5. Don’t buy up into a major moving average or sell down into one.

6. Don’t chase momentum if you can’t find the exit. Assume the market will reverse the minute you get in. If it’s a long way to the door, you’re in big trouble.

7. Exhaustion gaps get filled. Breakaway and continuation gaps don’t. The old traders’ wisdom is a lie. Trade in the direction of gap support whenever you can.

8. Trends test the point of last support/resistance. Enter here even if it hurts.

9. Trade with the TICK not against it. Don’t be a hero. Go with the money flow.

10. If you have to look, it isn’t there. Forget your college degree and trust your instincts.

11. Sell the second high, buy the second low. After sharp pullbacks, the first test of any high or low always runs into resistance. Look for the break on the third or fourth try.

12. The trend is your friend in the last hour. As volume cranks up at 3:00pm don’t expect anyone to change the channel.

13. Avoid the open. They see YOU coming sucker

14. 1-2-3-Drop-Up. Look for downtrends to reverse after a top, two lower highs and a double bottom.

15. Bulls live above the 200 day, bears live below. Sellers eat up rallies below this key moving average line and buyers to come to the rescue above it.

16. Price has memory. What did price do the last time it hit a certain level? Chances are it will do it again.

17. Big volume kills moves. Climax blow-offs take both buyers and sellers out of the market and lead to sideways action.

18. Trends never turn on a dime. Reversals build slowly. The first sharp dip always finds buyers and the first sharp rise always finds sellers.

19. Bottoms take longer to form than tops. Fear acts more quickly than greed and causes stocks to drop from their own weight.

20. Beat the crowd in and out the door. You have to take their money before they take yours, period.

Best intraday movers are stocks which are bought or sold by  FIIs, HNIs, Promoters,
MF or stocks which have witnessed break out on charts.

Sell your own holding intraday on rise n buy back at 3.25,
just check there is no spurt in volume intraday.

Strictly trade with sensex movements, sensex starts falling more then 25 points from high,then exit your positions ;

When market opens gap up & your stock is going down, do not buy, wait for it to show strength;

Buy the stocks for delivery only after 3.25 PM, Intraday traders are desperate sellers.

Mostly intraday whenver you buy a stock, if you wish to buy 1000 shares just buy 300, mostly it would be down once any buying happens, then buy few more again unless the stock is in rally.
